On jumping in the Lake Diesel 0 to 58 handicap over 2000 m, Tall Tale took a more forward roll than recent efforts, as Jackie Berriman took charge, the early race leader was Prince of Babylon followed by Darlux with Tall Tail on the rail in third.
Coming to the turn Tall Tale lost ground but was working home strongly along the inside running the race in patches to arrive in second behind Flash Cadillac with Zuhayr in third.
