After missing last Saturday’s meeting at Flemington due to suspension, the premiership-leading hoop returned to action with a double at Ladbrokes Park Hillside.

Four-time title winner Craig Williams had cut his deficit on Dunn to three winners after a commanding victory aboard Dulverton in the Polytrack Handicap (1600m).

But Dunn, hunting his first title, responded in style – winning the next event aboard So Does He for Shawn Mathrick, and made it a double later in the day as he got favourite Bonnie Belle over the line for Mike Moroney.

After securing the double, Dunn said he was thrilled with his numbers – irrespective of whether it wins him the title or not, having already soared past his mark of 55 from last season.

“This is a PB [personal best],” Dunn said, after recording his 61st metro win of the Victorian season.

“Everyone’s talking about premierships and all that. But I’ve just set goals
