The Shawn Mathrick yard supplied My Naughty Hoacks to Benalla race eight in a BM58 handicap over 2040 m with the runner joined by Beriman jumping from barrier one with a field of 9 to compete.
As the starter released in the Landale Electrical BM58 handicap My Naughty Hoaks was first into stride it was taking on early passing the post the first time by Celestial Sky, Play It By Ear followed with Always Lucky in advance of the rest.
The order was relatively unchanged as they straighten for home with My Naughty Hoaks still the race leader, Spirited Character loomed as a danger as My Naughty Hoaks fought on strongly, Helen Royale was late on the scene with the three runners going to the line as one.
On hitting the line it was Helen Royale getting the bib down just in time to deny the Mathrick prepared My Naughty Hoaks a victory for the new relationship with Spirited Character landing in third between runners.
